Starting my cake Blog: I’m finally doing this! 🎂✍️
Have you ever stared at a blank page, knowing you need to write something, and your brain just… freezes? Well, that is what happened when I sat down to write this blog post!
Starting a cake blog has felt quite daunting. I’ve spent hours researching—Do I really need a blog? Will anyone even read it? How does this whole SEO thing work? The information overload has been real!
But hey, here I am!
Why I’m finally blogging about cakes
I actually wrote my first blog post last year, and let’s just say… it exists. 😂 I don’t even have the words to describe it, but I’ve left it up because, hey, we all start somewhere, right? It’s a part of my journey, and I love looking back and seeing progress.
Yesterday, though, I finally found my WHY—two reasons that made me sit down, take a deep breath, and commit to this cake blogging adventure. Here are my two reasons:
1. Sharing my journey might help someone else ❤️
This one is really close to my heart. I’ve been in the cake business for years, and I know how tough (and rewarding!) the journey can be because there’s so much to figure out. So, if sharing my experiences, lessons, and wins can help another baker out there—whether they’re just starting or looking to grow—then this blog is worth it.
2. Blog posts help people find me (And my Cakes!) 🎂📈
Turns out, blogging isn’t just about sharing thoughts—it actually helps people find your cake business online. Writing blog posts improves SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which is a fancy way of saying “how Google finds you on the internet”.
If someone is searching for “Where to order a wedding cake near me” or “Tips for choosing a birthday cake,” having a blog can help them land on my website and if they love what they see? Boom—potential new customer!
So, now that I’ve officially started, here are some things you can expect:
